Whether your piano is due for routine tuning, or it’s been many years, the results we can achieve for you and your piano are truly remarkable. If you’re looking to upgrade, or recently acquired a piano, we can help with your enquiries.

Professional Piano Tuning

At Kevin's Pianos, we tune and service pianos every day - it’s what we do. When you book our small expert team to take care of your piano, we don’t just turn some tuning pins and tighten or loosen some wires on your piano. Whether you have a spinet, an upright, or a concert grand piano, you’ll receive our best piano tuning. We don’t just tune your piano and walk away, either. Squeaky pedals, stuck keys, and many other things you may not think about until the tuning is over can all be addressed during your piano tuning too.

Piano Restringing

Strings may break or no longer sound good. Piano restringing replaces one, more or all of the strings of the piano. The following may be involved in restringing your piano:
  • Replacement of tuning pins, stringing felt, etc.
  • Replacement of treble strings is done on the spot from coils of piano wire generally in stock.
  • Replacement of bass strings takes a little longer, because it is best done using strings imported from Germany.
We’re fully equipped to handle major and minor repairs as well as complete piano restoration.

Does My Piano Need Tuning?

Regular tuning is at the heart of maintaining your piano, compensating for changes in temperature, humidity, and vibration of strings from playing. Generally, piano tuning should be done often enough to hold pitch at A440. The minimum requirement is at least one tuning a year, although this may vary depending on your situation and the condition of your piano this could mean two or more tunings per year, with minor repairs and adjustments being carried out at the time of tuning and on the principal that a minor repair now negates bigger problems later on.
